Give It That Bible Touch is a blog about the applicable nature of the Bible. The goal is to demonstrate in the most clear and practical way that the Bible is applicable all the time, in every situation. We will look at the issues that come up in every day life, and explore the guiding principles God set up to work independently, as well as together in every situation we face. You may find this a fun way to get familiar with the Bible and what it says about the issues facing the world we live in.

Horoscopes, Phsychic Readings, Tarrow Cards, and Fortune Cookies
Leviticus 19:31 “‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.
In the past I would ask the question "why?" If those things are so "bad," why does it seem like the Bible is so general and vague about providing answers to everyday situations? My Horoscope, Phsychic Readings, Tarrow Cards, and Fortune Cookies are very specific. They tell me specifically that a good experience will happen this year, and to watch out for it. They tell me things about myself that I agree with, and I find to actually be true. Yet the only thing I find in the Bible is general guidelines like Jerimiah 29:11 I have plans to give you a hope and a future.
I have not found anything in The Bible like "you are upbeat, yet cautious, and full of wonder this week." It does say in many places "you are stiff necked and rebellious," but that is not the kind of answers I am looking for.
Today I recognize that my relationship with Gods is what guides me to the answers I need. He deals with the attitudes in my heart, as well as the reality of the situation. If you had your arm cut off in an accident, and someone offered you a band aid, you would know they are not trying to help you. That is what these fake future telling spirits do. They defile your faith in Gods ability to bring you to a place where the attitude in your heart, and the reality of your situation are dealt with.
What are some area's where God seems to ignore the reality of the situation and as a result your heart starts to form an opinion about how much God loves you?
